About me

Emma Graham in her studio working on illustration of woodland creatures

I am a versatile and experienced illustrator and graphic artist based in Suffolk UK. Since graduating from Norfolk Institute of Art in the 1990, I have built up a vibrant portfolio designing and illustrating everything from book covers, to seed packets, greetings cards, album covers, school magazines, private commissions and wild in art sculptures.

In 2007 I was awarded a silver gilt medal at the RHS Chelsea flower show for an exhibit I designed, illustrated and constructed with Thompson and Morgan UK, this exhibit then won gold at the RHS Shrewsbury show.

Over the last couple of years my work has gained interest, especially with the US market and I have illustrated a picture book with US indie publisher Spork. ‘Symphony Hollow’ written by Jessica Reino, was published in November 2017.

My own story ‘The Owl who wanted to sing’ was a finalist in the Stratford Literary Festival’s Stratford-Salariya Prize for picture books 2017.

In 2016 I painted 3 of the pig sculptures for the Wild in art sculpture trail ‘Pigs Gone Wild’ in Ipswich in aid of St Elizabeth’s Hospice. Then in 2019, I painted 4 sculptures for the Elmer’s Big Parade Wild in Art trail in Ipswich, 3 more Elmers for the Heart of Kent Parade 2021 and a cow for Cows about Cambridge 2021.

Sculpture painting

I am commissioned illustrator for the Children’s Appeal at Ipswich Hospital – a charity to raise funds for a full refurbishment of the children’s ward.

In 2020 I have worked with The Little Fig publishers and book packagers, illustrating two children’s books – ‘Everybody Counts’ and ‘Senor Saguaro’ that will be published in 2021.

Currently I am working on a children’s book in conjunction with Suffolk Mind and Suffolk County Council.

If you are interested in my work and wish to discuss a project or commission, do get in touch.
